Summer & Fall 2025 Key Events at Cornwall Friends
October:
- Sunday, October 5th, Worship Sharing Opportunity from June cotinued – Clarmont Dialogues, Starting at 12:00pm.
- This worship sharing opportunity is a continuation from a previous worship sharing that took place on June 29th, 2025, related to an item discussed during the May 2025 Business meeting.
- Friends are welcome to join and continue this discussion further

- [NYYM has joined in a lawsuit to preserve the restrictions on ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] agents entering houses of worship to arrest persons. The court, which issued a preliminary injunction, also asked for a list of all of the Meetings protected by this. Meetings are being advised to consider policies as to which areas in the Meetinghouse are private areas and during which hours a Meeting is open to the public. - *NOTE* – Business Meetings now begin at 12noon for the Fall and Winter schedule.

- Saturday, November 8th – 🍂🍂Fall Cleanup at Cornwall Meeting House🏠🍂🍂
- Generally our cleanup is selected for a Saturday after the leaves have fallen off the trees.
- This year’s Fall Cleanup is selected for Saturday, November 8th. (*Rain Date set for: Saturday, November 22nd*)

- Sunday, October 5th – Dutches County Quaker Meetinghouse Tours 12:00noon – 4:00pm
- The Dutchess County Quaker Meeting House Tour invites visitors to explore four historic Quaker meeting houses.
- Each location offers free docent‑led tours, educational exhibits, and a glimpse into Quaker heritage and their contributions to social justice.
- Tours are held from 12 PM to 4 PM, on the first Sunday of each month from June through November 2025 (September 7, October 5, November 2).

Cost of the retreat is:
- $280 for the full weekend
- $140 for one day, commuters, or anyone aged 13-22.
- This opportunity is pay as led and all are welcome. If anyone wishes to pay extra to support sponsoring others it is appreciated.
- Registration is needed by November 1st
- Partial first day Itinerary:
- Arrive Friday November 14th at 6pm
- Dinner at 7pm.
- Evening focus on gathering and sharing.
- Worship to take place the following mornings.
- Possible additional activities include a movie, poetry, art and activiism.
- An additional youth retreat for 7th-9th Gradeers is available at the same time at Powell House.

- This youth retreat is focused for 7th-9th grade level students.
