Fall 2025 Key Events at Cornwall Friends

November:

  • Sunday, November 23rd – Meeting for Worship with a Concern for Business. Begining at 12PM
    • *PLEASE NOTE* – This meeting has been moved to the 4th Sunday of November to accommodate the Quarterly Meeting Retreat at Powell House.

December:

  • Sunday, December 7th – Cornwall Monthly Meeting will Worship along with NYYM virtually.
    • During this Meeting for Worship Cornwall Meeting will not host its typical virtual-zoom Meeting as we will be joining the zoom meeting hosted by NYYM.
    • A link to log into this event is forthcoming and will be made available here and within our calendar above.

  • No Spiritual Reading group this month.
    • We will meet again in January 2026
    • Suggestions for future readings are welcome, please reach out to a group member if you have a selection in mind.
  • Sunday, December 14th – Meeting for Worship with a Concern for Business. Begining at 12PM
    • *PLEASE NOTE* – This meeting has been moved to the 2nd Sunday of November to accommodate the Annual Holiday Potluck on Sunday December 21st.
  • Sunday, December 21st, – Annual Holiday Potluck. Begining at 12PM
    • Join us for our annual holiday potluck and song singing in the Meeting house following Meeting for Worship. 

Fall 2025 Key Events Outside of Cornwall Friends

November:

  • Friday, November 14th through Sunday November 16th – 9 Partners Retreat at Powell House
    • Retreat Title: ‘What Canst Thou Say’ “
    • Address:
    • Cost of the retreat is:
      • $280 for the full weekend
      • $140 for one day, commuters, or anyone aged 13-22.
    • This opportunity is pay as led and all are welcome. If anyone wishes to pay extra to support sponsoring others it is appreciated.
    • Registration is needed by November 1st
    • Partial first day Itinerary:
      • Arrive Friday November 14th at 6pm
      • Dinner at 7pm.
      • Evening focus on gathering and sharing. 
      • Worship to take place the following mornings.
      • Possible additional activities include a movie, poetry, art and activiism. 
    • An additional youth retreat for 7th-9th Gradeers is available at the same time at Powell House.
  • Tuesday, November 25th, – Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. Begins at: 7:30pm.
    • Address: 1520 NY-94, New Windsor, NY 12553
    • Please Note: Restrooms are only available in the adjacent building.
    • Refreshments will be provided following the service.
    • Monetary Donations and Shelf  Stable Foods are being collected for local food banks. Common needs for food banks tend to include proteins such as canned tuna, chicken, or protient pastas. All shelf stable foods are welcomed. 
    • Proceeds from the collections will support the Rural and Migrant Ministries
    • An Ecumenical Thanksgiving service is a Thanksgiving celebration that brings together different Christian denominations or faith traditions for a shared worship experience. It emphasizes unity and gratitude, often focusing on themes of thankfulness for blessings, creation, and the bonds of community, while also highlighting the importance of interfaith relations. These services may include prayers, readings, music, and shared rituals from various traditions.

December:

  • Friday December 5th – Sunday, December 7th, – NYYM Fall Sessions
    • NYYM Fall Sessions will take place online.
    • Please save the date for New York Yearly Meeting’s Fall gathering for business and worship.
